Supporting Indian Plasterboard Manufacturing
Challenge:
In 2022 mist-air installed our first system in India for Saint-Gobain Gyprock. We have had the pleasure of working with Saint Gobain for many years with sites in the UK. Primarily known for their glass manufacturing, Saint-Gobain also manufacture ceilings, acoustic panels and construction chemicals. The 180-acre plasterboard ceiling manufacturing plant in Atchyuthapuram in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) district, employees over 2,500 people.

The Mist-air Solution:
The mist-air system targets loading hoppers where the gypsum rock is tipped by loading shovels. As the load is tipped the mist-air system blows a microfine fog from two directions, preventing the dust migrating from the hoppers. mist-air is also employed in the reception building where the reception hall where bulkers tip the unprocessed materials into a building, this sudden disturbance of large quantity of rock tipped from a height onto the floor generates large amounts of dust. mist-air fan assisted manifolds are activated when the fast-acting doors are triggered, and the mist-air system generates a fog before the load is tipped. This way the dust is suppressed, and the product and floor stay completely dry.
