The Mist-air Solution:
In 2003 mist-air installed a system at Cornelly Quarry, South Wales. Dust issues were caused from the loading of vehicles with aggregates and dust. The problematic bays were surrounded with mist-air stainless steel manifolds which were individually controlled by the ops room when loading. In the past water had been sprayed onto these lorries to try to suppress the dust but all that did was add weight to the load and create a housekeeping issue with slip hazard across the yard. The fine dust pushes past large droplets of water and so prove ineffective. mist-air creates micro fine fog which is the same size as the smallest dust particles producing a cloud of fog which the dust particles cannot float through to other areas.
